Atlético Nacional have agreed a deal to sign forward Cristian “Chicho” Arango from the San Jose Earthquakes, according to reporting from Tom Bogert.
Bogert reported that Arango pushed to leave for “personal reasons,” despite recently signing a new contract with San Jose. Bogert also noted that, if completed, the move would be Arango’s sixth club since 2021.
The report lands less than three weeks after the Earthquakes announced Arango had signed an extension through December 2027, with club options beyond that, while continuing to occupy a Designated Player spot.
Arango, 30, was one of San Jose’s main attacking pieces in 2025. Reuters reported he scored 13 goals and added 7 assists in 30 matches during his first season with the club.
As of now, neither club has publicly confirmed the transfer. The reporting describes an agreement, but additional details—such as the final structure (sale vs. loan), transfer fee, timing, and roster mechanisms—have not been formally announced by San Jose, Atlético Nacional, or MLS
