The breakthrough finally came in the second half when Ángel Sepúlveda found the back of the net in the 57th minute from a corner kick assists than East Los Angeles’ own, Efrain Juarez—giving Chivas a 1-0 advantage. From that moment on, Chivas controlled much of the tempo, showcasing composure and discipline to maintain their lead.

Atlas pushed forward late in search of an equalizer but struggled to break through a well-organized Chivas defense. Despite their efforts, they were unable to capitalize on their opportunities, and the match ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for Chivas.
