LANDOVER, MD. — France continued its pre-World Cup run with a 3-1 friendly win over Colombia on March 29, powered by a breakout performance from Désiré Doué at Northwest Stadium.
Doué opened the scoring in the 29th minute, striking from the edge of the area as his low shot took a deflection off Daniel Muñoz on the way in. France doubled the lead before halftime when Maghnes Akliouche delivered a cross and Marcus Thuram rose above the back line for a header.
France made it 3-0 in the 56th on the counter, with Rayan Cherki releasing Thuram down the right and Doué arriving at the far post to finish the low cross for his second. Colombia pulled one back through Jáminton Campaz in the 77th, but the match never truly turned.
The AP noted Kylian Mbappé came off the bench in the 78th minute as he works back from a knee issue, and the announced crowd was 60,734.
