The LA Galaxy picked up a much-needed 2-1 win over Austin FC at Q2 Stadium, grabbing three points on the road behind goals from Maya Yoshida and Erik Thommy. Yoshida opened the scoring in the 34th minute off a Marco Reus corner, Thommy doubled the lead in the 78th with his first goal in a Galaxy shirt, and Austin’s Myrto Uzuni made things tense late with an 85th-minute strike.
This was a significant result beyond the scoreline. The win ended the Galaxy’s long league road drought, and it also marked Greg Vanney’s 150th career MLS victory. Austin had more of the ball, but the Galaxy were sharper in the decisive moments, and that edge was enough to finally turn an away day into a full three-point performance.
