LAFC looked beaten late in San Diego, but the Black & Gold found a way to leave Snapdragon Stadium with something.

San Diego FC held a 2-0 lead behind a brace from Marcus Ingvartsen, putting LAFC under pressure in a match that felt like it was slipping away. But the final stretch belonged to LAFC. Denis Bouanga pulled one back in the 82nd minute, and Ryan Hollingshead delivered the equalizer in the 14th minute of stoppage time to seal a 2-2 draw.

Hollingshead’s late goal was not just another stoppage-time moment. According to LAFC, his 90’+14 strike tied for the third-latest stoppage-time goal in MLS history and became the latest regular-season goal in LAFC history.

The club is in the middle of a packed stretch of 13 matches in 44 days, including Concacaf Champions Cup action, but still found the energy to push late on the road. Bouanga’s goal also continued his strong form, giving him 10 goals across all competitions this season.

For San Diego, it was a missed opportunity. Ingvartsen’s two-goal performance had the home side in position for a major result, but LAFC’s pressure late changed the match completely.

It was not a win for LAFC, but it felt like a statement of resilience. Down two goals, away from home, and with tired legs, the Black & Gold still found a way to avoid defeat.
