OAKLAND, Calif. — María Zardoya, lead vocalist of The Marías, will open her new solo project’s headline tour in Oakland this winter. The “Not for Radio” Tour begins January 6–7, 2026, at the Fox Theater, launching the first live run for her solo moniker.
Zardoya’s solo album, Melt, was released October 10, 2025, through Atlantic Records and marks her first full-length project outside of The Marías. The tour will showcase the album in its entirety and introduce the visual and thematic direction of the new project.
While Zardoya continues to work with The Marías following their latest release, Submarine, her Not for Radio project serves as a separate creative lane. The album moves toward a quieter, more personal style, and the live show is expected to build around that sound.

According to early tour information, each date on the Not for Radio Tour will include a local string ensemble opening the show, followed by Zardoya performing Melt front to back. The stage design is built around a “winter in the garden” concept, aligning with the album’s softer production and visual tone.
The Fox Theater dates represent the first stops of the nationwide run and are expected to draw both longtime fans of The Marías and listeners curious about Zardoya’s solo direction.

Launching the tour in Oakland gives Zardoya an early West Coast debut before the tour moves nationally. The Fox Theater has been a key venue for several indie and alternative artists starting new eras, and Not for Radio will be presented as Zardoya’s first fully independent performance identity.
