Inter Miami grabbed one of the biggest wins of the MLS weekend, edging the Colorado Rapids 3-2 at Empower Field at Mile High in a match that felt massive before kickoff and delivered once it got going. Messi opened the scoring from the spot, Germán Berterame added another before halftime, and Miami found the winner late through Messi again as the club picked up its first victory under interim head coach Guillermo Hoyos. The crowd of 75,824 was reported by Inter Miami and Colorado as the second-highest attendance in MLS history, giving the whole night an even bigger feel.

Colorado did not go away quietly either. Rafael Navarro and Darren Yapi both scored in the second half to erase Miami’s lead for a moment, but Messi’s late strike gave the visitors all three points and stretched Miami’s unbeaten run to seven matches. For a team entering the night with a coaching change hanging over it, this felt like a statement win.
