Pasadena, Calif. — May 30, 2026: With the 2026 FIFA World Cup just days away, the Mexican National Team gave supporters one more reason to believe Saturday night at the Rose Bowl, defeating Australia 1–0 in front of a packed crowd of an estimated 78,400 in Pasadena. Defender and captain of his club in Italy( Genoa), Johan Vásquez delivered the match’s lone goal in the first half, heading home a corner kick from Tolucas superstar forward, Alexis Vega.

Beyond the scoreline, the team looked organized, composed, and confident — exactly what supporters hoped to see in one of the final warm-up matches before opening the tournament.
