A Major Concert Venue Is Coming to Orinda in 2026

ORINDA, Calif. — The East Bay is getting a new home for live music. The venue formerly known as the Bruns Amphitheater will reopen in April 2026 under a new name — Siesta Valley Bowl — with plans to host 40 to 60 concerts a year, creating one of the biggest additions to the Bay Area music landscape in over a decade.

The redesigned outdoor venue sits along the Orinda hills, surrounded by open space and just minutes from Oakland and Berkeley. With a new ownership group stepping in, the goal is simple: build a consistent, high-quality concert calendar in a part of the Bay that often gets overlooked when major tours route through California.

A Boost for the East Bay’s Music Access

The announcement immediately sparked excitement among East Bay artists and fans who’ve long wanted more local options without crossing the bridge into San Francisco. The venue’s team says the focus will be on everything from indie to Latin, R&B, pop, and touring festival-style lineups — a range designed to bring more diverse crowds into the area. For East Bay concertgoers, venues like Chase Center and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium often require long travel. Siesta Valley Bowl aims to change that, offering a closer, more accessible alternative for large-scale events.

A New Chapter for a Historic Space

While the former Bruns Amphitheater was known for theater productions, this relaunch marks a full shift toward music and live events. The 2026 calendar is expected to be announced closer to next year’s opening, with early interest already building around who will headline the inaugural run.

The East Bay is gaining a new stage — one that could reshape the region’s live-music map for years to come.
