Golden State Brings the Curry Brothers Together After Years of Waiting

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — The moment Warriors fans have been waiting more than a decade for is finally happening. Golden State is set to sign veteran guard Seth Curry to a contract for the remainder of the season on Monday, sources told ESPN — reuniting him with his older brother, Stephen Curry, for the first true NBA run of their careers.

Seth originally joined the Warriors in training camp but was waived just before the start of the season due to the team’s tight financial restrictions. Locked into the second apron hard cap, Golden State was only able to begin the year with 14 players to create just enough prorated space to eventually add him back into the open 15th slot.

That plan now comes full circle.

A Delayed Debut With Steph’s Quad Injury

While the signing becomes official this week, fans will have to wait for the Curry brothers to actually share the floor.
Stephen Curry — who leads the 11–10 Warriors with 27.9 points per game — remains sidelined with a left quad strain. The team expects to reevaluate him sometime next week.

For Golden State, the move adds immediate shooting, spacing and veteran guard depth, especially as the team searches for more consistent offense behind Klay Thompson and Jonathan Kuminga.

Seth’s Return to Where It All Started

Though Seth Curry has played for 10 NBA teams across his 12-year career, his professional story traces back to the Bay. He began with the Warriors’ G League affiliate in Santa Cruz before intentionally carving his own path away from his brother’s spotlight.

Now, at age 35, he returns with one of the most efficient shooting resumes the league has ever seen.

Seth has hit 945 career threes at 43.3%, the seventh-highest three-point percentage in NBA history. Last season, he led the entire NBA by shooting 45.6% from deep, continuing a career defined by precision and consistency.

This summer, Seth finally decided the timing was right to join Stephen — a pairing both brothers have openly talked about wanting for years.

What It Means for Golden State

For a Warriors team that has struggled to find shooting reliability outside of Steph, Seth’s addition checks every box: spacing, composure, off-ball movement, and a veteran presence who understands Golden State’s system.

When Stephen Curry returns, the Chase Center will finally get a piece of basketball history: two Curry brothers sharing the same NBA court, wearing the same jersey, and taking the same shots that helped define a generation.
