Gilberto Mora has been linked to a European offer exceeding $50 million, according to David Faitelson, while a separate ESPN report suggests an agreement with a major European club could be announced next week.

The reports have increased attention around the Tijuana midfielder’s future, but they do not establish a confirmed destination or a completed transfer.

Speaking on Tercer Grado Deportivo, Faitelson said Mora’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, had presented Xolos with a proposal worth more than $50 million in U.S. dollars. He identified Liverpool as the interested club, according to Sports Illustrated’s account of the broadcast.

Liverpool, however, is not the only club linked to Mora. Sports Illustrated also names Real Madrid and Barcelona among the clubs reportedly monitoring the Mexican international. Those links do not establish that either Spanish club has submitted a bid.

Separately, ESPN journalist León Lecanda reported that an agreement with a major European club could be announced on October 14, the day Mora turns 18.

According to AS México’s account of that report, Lecanda said the potential transaction could set a record for a player moving from Liga MX to a club abroad. He did not name the club or provide a transfer fee.

That distinction leaves Mora’s potential destination open: Faitelson’s Liverpool link and Lecanda’s unnamed European club should not be treated as confirmation of the same deal.

Earlier reporting also illustrates the uncertainty around the figures. TUDN reported on October 1, citing TEAMtalk and Football Insider, that Liverpool was preparing a possible $45 million offer. That report described a prospective proposal rather than a confirmed agreement.

For now, the reported offer exceeding $50 million remains attributed to Faitelson. The reports reviewed do not establish an accepted bid, a completed transfer or a confirmed arrival date, and the possible October 14 announcement remains a reported possibility.
