Angel City FC rescued a point in the final moments Sunday, drawing Gotham FC 1-1 at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison. The result extended Angel City’s unbeaten run to seven matches and denied the league leaders a home victory in rainy conditions.

Gotham broke through in the 66th minute when Midge Purce and Rose Lavelle combined to find Jaedyn Shaw in the center of the penalty area. Shaw finished the move for her 10th goal of the season, becoming the third player in Gotham history to reach double-digit goals in a single regular season.

Taylor Suarez entered in the 83rd minute and changed the result eight minutes later, redirecting Emily Sams’ low pass inside the near post for the equalizer. The rookie’s late finish gave Angel City an important road point as the playoff race moves into the final stretch.

The draw also secured Gotham at least one home quarterfinal in the NWSL playoffs. Gotham moved to 55 points and remained four points clear at the top of the table, while Angel City continued building momentum before the international break.
