Sacko scored three goals across two matches during Week 25, helping Phoenix collect four important points as the club continues fighting its way back into the playoff picture.
He first found the net in Phoenix’s 3–1 victory over Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. Days later, Sacko produced an even bigger performance against Sacramento Republic FC.
With Phoenix facing a difficult result on the road, Sacko scored twice to lead the club to a 2–2 comeback draw. His first goal arrived shortly before halftime and gave Rising momentum heading into the break. He then found the net again in the 85th minute to secure a point.
Those goals raised Sacko’s season total to 12, placing him level at the top of the USL Championship Golden Boot race. He also leads Phoenix in total goal contributions and is tied for the league lead with 59 shots.
Statistics only tell part of the story. Sacko has become the player Phoenix depends on when matches begin slipping away. His movement helps him reach dangerous areas, while his composure gives the team confidence that one opportunity can change a match.
Phoenix still has work to do in its pursuit of the postseason, but its recent results have created new momentum. If Rising completes the climb into a playoff position, Sacko’s goals will be one of the biggest reasons why.
The Golden Boot race remains close, but few players are carrying as much responsibility—or producing as consistently—as Phoenix’s leading scorer.
