Club León delivered one of its strongest performances of the tournament, defeating Real Salt Lake 3–0 to advance to the Leagues Cup semifinals.

León opened the scoring in the 21st minute after Iván Moreno sent a low cross into the penalty area. Díber Cambindo reached the delivery with a sliding finish, giving the Liga MX side an early advantage.

Real Salt Lake found opportunities to respond before halftime but could not turn its pressure into an equalizer. León stayed composed defensively before creating separation during the second half.

Sebastián Vegas doubled the lead in the 66th minute, rising above the defense to score from a corner kick. Cambindo added his second goal six minutes later, completing a dominant night for León and ending Real Salt Lake’s tournament run.

The result carried extra meaning following the clubs’ previous meeting. Real Salt Lake defeated León 3–1 during the 2023 Leagues Cup, scoring three times late in the match to complete a comeback. This time, León controlled the defining moments and never allowed RSL to build similar momentum.

For Real Salt Lake, the loss brings a sudden conclusion to a promising campaign. The club entered the quarterfinals after producing eight goals during the opening phase but could not break through against an organized León defense.

León is now one victory away from the final and closer to securing a place in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup. More importantly, the performance sent a warning to the remaining field: León is becoming one of the most dangerous teams left in the tournament.
